The End

You know, sometimes when people read books, they get bored with it, and say, “There is nothing interesting about it.” But I believe you won’t feel the same for the book “Holes” by Louis Sachar, as you read that book, you will see that not all books in the world are boring, that there are books worth reading in the world.
I want to tell you my opinion on the story. I like how the author describes the story very well, and he does not leave a single thing out. He uses all the elements of adventure, humor, and action. He also had a unique interesting way of humoring his readers; there were times when I did laugh. There was also nothing unlikable about it, he always kept the flow of the book, and never messed up anywhere.
The idea of this book is "changing" ; I believe he was trying to tell us about how we can change if we look at ourselves real hard, and what happens if we don’t make the right choices. It’s important to fix our mistakes. If we do somethig bad, we shouldn't just sit and watch. We gotta do something. We should also care about the advices of our friends and family. If we need some changes in our life, we shouldn't be afraid of them. We have to remember that we can do anything we set our mind to.

Not very bad

The book becomes more interesting each time I read it. I guess I like this book. There are the events, in the book that I can talk about that are very interesting, but the events that I find most significant are chapters 23, 25, 26, and 28, which I call the flashback chapters. I find them the most interesting, because they explain the history of Camp Green Lake, and about the famous outlaw; Kissin’ Kate Barlow. She was once a school teacher, who lived in the town at Green Lake; and Green Lake, was a lake back then, lush with green and water. Kate Barlow was happy back then, but she was driven mad by the murder of her love, and basically lost her mind, since then not one drop of rain fell on Green Lake, and for the next 20 years after that, Kate robbed, and killed anyone that got in her way, making her the most feared outlaw in the West.
Kate Barlow
The characters problems are another thing, there are so many problems that it’s hard to keep track, but I can name a few. Stanley has the worst luck ever, all because his Good for nothing pig stealing great, great grandfather made a terrible mistake. Then there is Stanley’s best friend Zero, who was abandoned by his mother when he was young, he does not know how to read and write. There is the Warden, who runs Camp Green Lake, whose family has been searching for treasure ever since she was a child. And also, as I said before; Kate Barlow, who lost the love of her life and was driven mad by grieve and despair. Kind of feel sad for all these people huh.

Yellow Spotted Lizards

Yellow-spotted tropical night lizards are among the largest of the night lizards, reaching a length of 12.7 centimetres (5.0 in). They are nearly black in color, with a series of yellow spots running along their sides from the tips of their snouts to their rear flanks. The spots shift into thin and subtle yellow bands on their tails. There is also yellow coloring on their underbody. Their heads are smooth and snakelike in appearance, while their bodies are covered in rough skin.

I wanted to give some information about them. Theese lizards are very important in the story. They affect the story much. They are not like scorpions or snakes. When they bite you , you die.

Torture begins

Lot’s of people have bad luck, but sometimes you got nothing to do like Stanley Yelnats, from the book “Holes”. This guy is totally desperate. This feature of him reminded me the movie "8 Mile". Rabbit had bad luck too. That's why it made me a little bit curious.
The main character of the story in of course, Stanley, he is big, and slightly overweight, and always gets picked on, especially by one kid younger than he is.  Apparently his great, great grandfather kept a promise to an old gypsy, named Madam Zeroni, but if he broke that promise, he and his entire family would be cursed for all eternity, which he did. Now Stanley has bad luck left and right. Stanley is a little bit like me, we must do the things that we don't want , usually. He is brave and confident. That's the reason why I like Stanley.
But unfortunately, he is not the narrator of the story, the author is, which is sort of less exciting. The story begins with The Narrator telling us about how Stanley ended up going to Camp Green Lake, apparently he was convicted of stealing Clyde Livingston’s shoes, and was sent to camp to make up for what he did. But he never actually stole them; he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He tells us about all of Stanley’s adventures at camp and experiences, eventually tell about him find his families long lost treasure, and telling about how he lifted the curse.

It's a book,like others...

Reading a book is like a torture for me.I'm serious. It's in my top 3 boring activities list.Maybe the first place is for books, i don't know..Whatever..I had to read this book because it's a homework.Actualy I read a few books like 8-10 times. But those books were homework too..When I started to read "Holes" it seemed like a nice book,as always. It's a trap.Every book seems like nice at first. If it wasn't a homework I would stop reading before finishing it.With a huge effort I managed to complete the book. When you want something and work hard on it,you can do it.I learned it after this book.Actually, this book wasn't very bad.Sometimes I enjoyed it.If I enjoy it,you must love it.Give a chance for this book and read it.
